But first, let’s discuss toxins. There are many ways that we can become “toxic”. The food we eat (no matter how clean),cleaning products, grooming/beauty products, the air/environment, the workplace and social places are just a few factors that can contribute to our toxicity in the forms of airborne chemicals like fragrances, chemicals from industry and home, ionizing radiation, water and fat soluble toxins are in the water we drink, in medications and pesticides we come into contact, and even the metabolites from stress and disease we face on a daily basis.

What Is a Detox?

A detox is a period of time where you are making food and lifestyle choices that support your body’s daily efforts in eliminating toxic waste. So while your body does do some detox every day, the chemical burden from our food, environments and lifestyle have overwhelmed our bodies. Often detox is focused on food elimination - it could be a juice fast, a soup cleanse, or a water fast! Yikes! These extreme detoxes are not the only way to go. While it is very important to remove or keep to a minimum any processed and refined foods, fast food and most restaurant food, added sugar, alcohol, vaping, any non-prescription medications. Some people go vegetarian or vegan on a detox because animal products are not detoxifying per say, however this depends on the kind of metabolism you have, you dietary needs, and plans for your detox. As mentioned, no matter what type of detox you choose, the goal is to rid our bodies of these toxins to help us obtain optimum health. Having toxins store up can make us more susceptible to illness and disease.

Now that you know how we become toxic keep reading to learn when is the ideal time to do a detox.

need 50oz of water daily) I cant state how CRUCIAL it is to flush out your system. Yes peeing and pooping are essential on a detox!!

~Especially if you are prone to constipation, have a glass of warm water with the juice of a half of a lemon upon waking up

~Use supplements for a complete detox. Here is the link to the ones I recommend - a one week detox in a box that can be repeated, or a 1 month detoxification program that gets all your detox organs working over the entire 30 days. . These products are tops; professional and my clients LOVE THEM and so do I because they really help facilitate an amazing detox.
