CBD is an endocannabinoid. There is another endocannabinoid called THC that has a psychoactive effect on the user and can trigger a possible addition, but never a physical dependence. However, CBD does not cause a psychoactive effect, it does not cause an addiction, or a physical dependence. In fact, there is research conducted on CBD showing that it can actually help transition into less drug use.
