Aromatherapy Stress Relief
Get some aromatherapy stress relief without any of those harmful dyes and chemicals you find at Lush and in other commercial products. Besides, the act of making this aromatherapy stress relief from scratch is relief in itself. Scents from ylang ylang, lavender, chamomile, peppermint and citrus redirect your nervous system from fight ‘n flight to relaxation in a matter of seconds. Get your hands and body clean with Epsom salts rich in Magnesium, the most relaxing of minerals. There are so many reasons to take some time to make your own aromatherapy products.
In Virtual Health Club, our demo coach Allie Might gave us a real show on multiple ways to make use of aromatherapy and essentials oils for self-care and stress relief. Do small things daily for yourself to make a massive difference in the way you handle stress and take time for yourself.
Relaxing Bath Salts
2 cups Epsom salt (fine course)
1/2 cup sea salt (fine course)
1/2 cup baking soda
30-40 drops combined lavender and orange essential oil
Food or soap coloring (optional)
Mini mason jars or other cute jars
Add 1/4 cup salt to your bath, pour yourself a cup of your favorite tea or glass of wine and enjoy some relaxing "ME TIME"!
What You'll Need
1 cup baking soda
1/4 cup water
your fave essential oils (try eucalyptus, peppermint, or lavender)
Preheat over to 350'. Combine baking soda and water in a bowl. Spoon mixture evenly into cupcake liners in the tin and press down mixture. Bake for 15 minutes.
Once out of the over, remove from tin. Add 5-6 drops of essential oil to the top of the disc. Cool and store in a jar. Add a disk to your shower for a relaxing and aromatic shower.
Bath Bombs - give some fizz to your bath
1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup citric acid
1/2 cup Epsom salts
1 tsp. water
2 tsp. essential oil
3 tsp. oil (olive oil)
1 tsp of flower petals (optional)
bath bomb mold
Place the dry ingredients in a bowl and then mix them all evenly with the whisk.
In a separate container, mix the liquid ingredients together. Note that in this step, the essential oils, fragrances and colors are added. This is an important step! Make sure to pick out lots of fragrance oils to try out here, as you can make many fabulous combinations for bath time. Lavender bath bombs for relaxation and sleep, perhaps tinted purple. Ylang Ylang and bergamot for a sensual bath bomb, perhaps even add some rose. Add some rose petals for more sensuality.
Slowly add the liquid mixture to the dry mix, one small spoon at a time.
When well mixed, you simply pack this mixture into a bath bomb mold and pack tightly, then let it dry. Work quickly so as not to let the bath bomb mixture dry out.
Once dried, wrap and store. Add one bath bomb to bath water and relax.
