What is Naturopathic Medicine?
Naturopathic medicine is a distinct primary health care profession, emphasizing prevention, treatment, and optimal health through the use of therapeutic methods and substances that encourage individuals’ inherent self-healing process. The practice of naturopathic medicine includes modern and traditional, scientific, and empirical methods. Naturopathic Doctors graduate from a 4-year post-graduate doctorate program, undergo stringent board examinations and licensure in one of the licensed states.
What is a Health Coach?
A health coach is a wellness authority and supportive mentor who motivates individuals to cultivate positive health choices. Health Coaches educate and support clients to achieve their health goals through lifestyle and behavior adjustments. Health coaches bring education in functional medicine, nutrition as well as personal experience in overcoming their own health challenges.
What is Self-Care? Why is it important?
Self-care is crucial taking responsibility for yourself in order to create physical, emotional and mental well-being. In health care, self-care is any necessary human regulatory function which is under individual control, deliberate and self-initiated. At Nat Med Coach, rather than placing self-care on a continuum with health care providers at the opposite end to self-care while others see it in a complex multidimensional construct, we feel it is the responsibility of health care workers to promote effective and enlightened self-care so you can have confidence in the true primary-care.
